Classic Space Arrowhead MOC – Free Building Instructions
Share
A long pointed nose, wide cockpit section and oversized rear drive unit give the Classic Space Arrowhead MOC a silhouette that immediately suggests speed. This is my original custom MOC, created as a compact retro-style spacecraft for space fleets, landing areas and standalone vehicle displays.
Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page. The blue and gray body, transparent yellow cockpit and exposed engine details give the ship a strong classic science-fiction character while keeping the overall design low and streamlined.
The Arrowhead Shape Defines the Entire Spacecraft
The front of the ship begins with a narrow gray point before gradually widening toward the cockpit. Blue panels along the upper surface strengthen that arrow-like shape and create a clear visual line from the nose to the pilot area.
Behind the cockpit, the body becomes taller and more mechanical. This change in volume helps separate the fast-looking forward section from the heavier propulsion equipment at the rear.

A Yellow Cockpit Between Three Engine Zones
The transparent yellow canopy is the visual center of the Classic Space Arrowhead MOC. Its steep front angle follows the direction of the nose rather than interrupting it, allowing the cockpit to remain part of the spacecraft's forward-moving profile.
Two cylindrical engine pods sit away from the main body on either side of the craft. A much larger circular engine assembly dominates the rear, creating a useful contrast between the slim front fuselage and the powerful-looking drive section.
Small red transparent elements at the ends of the side pods and the circular space emblems on the blue panels add recognizable color accents without taking attention away from the overall shape.
Follow the Build from the Nose to the Rear Drive
The image sequence lets you recreate the custom spaceship MOC section by section. The long central body provides a useful reference line while building, followed by the angled nose panels, cockpit enclosure, side wings and engine assemblies.
When following the free MOC instructions, compare the position of the canopy and side engines with the finished model as useful checkpoints. Their alignment is important to preserving the low, symmetrical appearance of the spacecraft.
The free image instructions are available here on the page. Supporters can also access a downloadable PDF version.
Give the Arrowhead a Mission Beyond the Display Shelf
The spacecraft can become the fast-moving element in a larger retro space scene. It could approach a Deep Space Communication Station MOC, carry equipment connected to the Space Cargo MOC, or sit beside surface vehicles waiting at a landing area.
For a display focused more heavily on exploration vehicles, the Celestial Sled renewed MOC adds another compact spacecraft-style vehicle, while the Space Ice Radar Base MOC can provide a destination for a wider planetary mission.
Whether displayed alone or surrounded by other space equipment, the Classic Space Arrowhead MOC is built around one clear idea: a pointed, low-profile spacecraft whose cockpit and engine layout make the direction of travel obvious before the model ever leaves the landing pad.
