Deep Space Communication Station MOC – Free Building Instructions

Deep Space Communication Station MOC – Free Building Instructions

The Deep Space Communication Station is my original custom MOC, designed as a compact signal hub for a futuristic planetary base. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.

The model combines a central communication building with a separate satellite dish station. Its white and dark-blue structure, transparent orange signal tower, control equipment, antennas, and crystal terrain detail make it a strong addition to a space base, exploration outpost, or small sci-fi display.

Quick MOC Summary

  • MOC type: Deep-space communication station with a separate satellite dish
  • Best for: Space bases, planetary outposts, exploration layouts, and sci-fi displays
  • Main visible features: Transparent orange signal tower, paired communication dishes, front control panels, side framework, large satellite dish, and blue crystal formation
  • Instruction format: Step-by-step image instructions

About This Custom MOC

The main station uses an angled white shell with dark-blue sections to create the appearance of a compact technical building. A decorated front panel forms the central control area, with a small screen, keypad details, and an emblem positioned beneath the sloped upper section.

Black mechanical frames run along both sides of the station, adding depth and giving the structure the appearance of external support equipment, cables, or communication hardware. These darker details also create a strong contrast with the clean white body.

The most distinctive feature is the transparent orange communication tower mounted above the station. Two circular dishes extend from its sides, while a narrow antenna mast rises from the top. The layered transparent sections give the tower a bright signal-core appearance and make it the visual focus of the finished MOC.

A separate rocky base holds the large white satellite dish. The small blue crystal formation beside it adds color and helps connect the equipment to an unexplored planetary environment.

What You Can Build from the Instructions

The image instructions help you recreate both parts of the display: the central communication station and the separate satellite dish platform. The station includes the sloped outer structure, dark-blue front section, control console, external side frames, upper equipment housing, and transparent signal tower.

The second assembly creates the large dish antenna on a compact uneven base. Small slopes form the surrounding terrain, while the crystal element provides a recognizable environmental detail that can be placed beside the communication equipment.

Building a Deep-Space Signal Network

This MOC works especially well as the communication center of a larger space layout. The main station can sit inside a protected base, while the separate dish can be positioned farther away to create the appearance of equipment spread across the surface of a distant planet.

You can place additional antennas, cargo modules, survey vehicles, defensive equipment, or crystal formations between the two builds. Repeating small technical details around the area can turn the standalone model into a complete signal network used for receiving transmissions, tracking exploration teams, or studying distant objects.

The separate components also make the layout easy to rearrange. The dish can be placed on higher terrain, beside a landing area, or near the edge of the display, while the main control station remains closer to the central base.

Building Experience

The model is divided into several clearly defined assemblies. The angular station body creates the main structure, the front panels add the control details, and the black side frames provide the mechanical finish. The transparent communication tower forms a separate vertical section, while the dish and rocky terrain complete the second part of the display.

This combination of structural sections, small control details, transparent elements, and an independent satellite dish makes the build varied without relying on one repeated construction style.

Continue the communication theme with the Contact Station with Antenna and Generator MOC, which can serve as a smaller field relay away from the main base.

Add supplies and technical equipment with the Space Cargo MOC. For surface exploration, the Ice Planet Scout Walker MOC can operate between the station and remote survey areas.

The 6834-1 Celestial Sled Renew MOC is another useful match for a crystal-covered planetary layout. A protected outpost can also include the Powerful Laser Turret MOC near its entrance or communication equipment.

Deep Space Communication Station MOC FAQ

What is included in this MOC?

The design includes a central communication station with control panels, external equipment, an elevated signal tower, and a separate satellite dish built on a small rocky base.

Can the station work in a larger space display?

Yes. The model can act as a communication center for a planetary base, research facility, exploration camp, landing zone, or frozen-world outpost. The separate dish makes it easy to spread the equipment across a larger layout.
