The Blue Horizon Rocket looks ready for the moment between landing and its next launch. Its tall cylindrical body, blue tapered nose, small antenna and angled fins create a compact retro-space silhouette, while the round yellow-and-black platform gives the model a clear place to stand.
This is my original custom Blue Horizon Rocket MOC, created as a small spacecraft display that can stand on its own or become the centerpiece of a larger space scene. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.
A Blue-and-White Rocket with a Classic Space Profile
The main shape is deliberately simple and recognizable: a mostly white vertical body is capped by a broad blue cone, with blue detailing returning near the bottom of the craft. Narrow fins break up the sides, while the antenna at the top extends the silhouette without making the model feel bulky.
The landing gear changes the character of the build. Instead of presenting the rocket as a vehicle in flight, the angled supports position it as a landed spacecraft waiting on its circular pad. The yellow-and-black edge around the platform adds another strong visual layer beneath the restrained colors of the rocket itself.








Build the Rocket from Landing Pad to Nose Cone
The instructions take you through the model as a complete display, including the circular base, landing supports, central rocket body, side details, fins and upper cone. The vertical design makes the changing shapes easy to follow as the spacecraft develops from the platform upward.

Turn the Landing Pad into a Small Spaceport
The Blue Horizon Rocket can be treated as more than a standalone spacecraft. Its dedicated landing platform gives you an immediate starting point for a launch site, research base or remote planetary outpost.
A Deep Space Communication Station MOC can provide the ground communications beside the landing area, while the Space Ice Radar Base MOC can extend the setting into a more technical exploration site.

Make the Rocket the Vertical Focus of Your Space Display
Many space layouts spread outward with vehicles, equipment and low structures. This rocket adds height instead. Placing it behind smaller ground models can create a natural focal point, while keeping the circular landing pad visible helps separate the spacecraft from the surrounding scene.
You can also keep the build completely independent as a compact shelf model. The combination of the tall rocket, exposed landing gear and bordered platform already gives it a finished display presence without requiring a larger environment around it.
