Harvest Tree Swing MOC – Free Building Instructions

A swing hanging beneath an old autumn tree can turn a small patch of ground into a complete seasonal scene. The Harvest Tree Swing MOC is built around a sculpted brown trunk, long spreading branches, warm orange and red leaves, a chain-hung wooden-style swing and a small hanging lantern.
This is my original custom MOC, created as an autumn and harvest display that can stand on its own or become a quiet story point inside a forest, countryside, park or seasonal layout. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.
The Tree Does More Than Hold the Swing
The tree is both the main subject and the framework for the entire scene. Its trunk rises from one side of the shaped ground base before extending outward into a long branch above the swing. That asymmetrical shape leaves an open area beneath the canopy, giving the suspended seat its own clear space without separating it from the tree.
Small clusters of orange, red and brown foliage are spread across the upper branches rather than forming a solid canopy. This keeps the branch structure visible and gives the tree a distinctly autumn appearance. A lantern hanging beside the trunk adds another vertical detail and helps the side of the tree feel connected to the scene below.

A Harvest Scene Built Around One Quiet Moment
The model uses only a few seasonal details, but each one contributes to the setting. A small pumpkin sits near the base of the tree, autumn leaves appear both above and around the trunk, and the brown ground details continue the warm color palette beneath the swing.
The swing itself becomes the natural focal point. Two chains descend from the branch to a decorated wooden-style seat, creating a recognizable tree swing while leaving plenty of open space around it. Instead of turning the build into a crowded landscape, the design keeps the attention on the relationship between the tree, the hanging seat and the autumn surroundings.
For another harvest-focused scene, the Pumpkin Cart Scene MOC can extend the same seasonal setting with more countryside character.
Follow the Shape from the Ground to the Hanging Swing
The free image instructions let you recreate the complete Harvest Tree Swing MOC while seeing how the shaped base, angled trunk, extending branches and suspended seat come together. The changing directions of the trunk and canopy are especially important to the final silhouette, while the chains establish the position of the swing beneath the branch.
The foliage and smaller ground details can then give the structure its harvest identity without hiding the underlying tree shape. The result is a model where the natural form of the tree remains easy to read from a distance.

Continue the Path Beyond the Harvest Tree
The swing can become a destination inside a larger outdoor layout rather than remaining an isolated display. The Picnic Tree Deck MOC can create another resting place nearby, while the Riverside Park Bridge MOC offers a natural way to continue a walking route through a landscaped park.
For a more wooded direction, the Forest Adventurers Camp MOC can move the setting deeper into the forest. A swing beneath autumn branches could sit along the edge of that larger environment as a quiet landmark between paths, camps and seasonal scenery.
