Governor’s House MOC | Free Building Instructions

A governor’s residence should look different from the docks, watch posts, and defenses around it. The Governor’s House MOC is my original custom MOC, designed as a tall formal building with white and yellow walls, a columned lower level, projecting balcony, red tiled roof, and rooftop flag. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.
The narrow footprint and strong vertical shape make the house a natural landmark for an imperial harbor, coastal settlement, pirate-era town, or standalone architectural display. The governor figure on the balcony immediately gives the building a purpose: this is not simply another house, but a place of authority within the scene.
A Governor’s Residence Built to Face the Harbor
The front of the Governor’s House is dominated by the dark brown balcony. Its railing stretches across most of the facade, creating a large viewing platform above the open ground level and giving the governor a visible position overlooking the surrounding settlement.
Below it, the white columns create a more formal entrance than a simple doorway would provide. On the side of the building, two narrow lattice windows break up the tall walls, while the yellow horizontal sections add contrast to the white structure and help separate the different levels visually.
The red tiled roof finishes the architectural silhouette with a strong overhang, and the blue-and-white flag above it makes the building easy to recognize even when it is surrounded by smaller structures.

Why the Balcony Is the Storytelling Center
The balcony changes the Governor’s House from a static building into a location where scenes can happen. The governor can address visitors, watch activity in the harbor, inspect arriving ships, welcome an important guest, or simply stand above a busy town square.
That makes the MOC especially useful as a centerpiece rather than background scenery. Docks, soldiers, boats, merchants, treasure, and pirate activity can all be arranged around the residence while the balcony remains the visual focus of the official side of the settlement.
From the Columned Base to the Rooftop Flag
The finished model is organized into clear architectural layers. The lower section establishes the columned entrance, the middle section carries the main walls and balcony, and the upper structure leads into the sloped tiled roof and flagpole.
The step-by-step images below show how these sections come together so you can recreate the visible details of the Governor’s House, including the balcony railing, side windows, contrasting wall bands, roof treatment, and final rooftop elements.
Build a Larger Harbor Story Around the Governor’s House
For the official side of the settlement, the Imperial Palm Lookout MOC can extend the governor’s influence toward the shoreline, while the Classic Soldier Cannon adds a compact defensive position near the residence or harbor entrance.
The opposite side of the story can be developed with the Pirate Supply Dock MOC as a hidden landing point and the Pirate Treasure Watchtower MOC as a rival lookout farther along the coast. Together, these smaller locations can turn the Governor’s House into the political center of a much wider harbor adventure.
Recreate the Governor’s House with the Free Instructions
Use the image instructions below to build the residence as shown, from its formal lower facade and balcony to the red roof and raised flag. The combination of height, strong architectural details, and a clearly defined role gives this custom MOC enough presence to stand alone while still leaving plenty of room for a larger coastal layout around it.
