What inspired you to create Holiday Corner Street?
I’ve always loved the different buildings that I’ve seen in my holiday in Europe. I wanted create different shops that offered food and products from different places. I wanted for each builder to re-live their holidays seeing the easter eggs in the building.
Was the model influenced by a real city or one of your own travel experiences?
Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, and more are the main inspirations for the design.
How did you choose the different architectural styles and colors for the buildings?
I used photos from my trip as reference as well as experimented on color combinations that could work well beside each building with a bit of a vibrant, inviting atmosphere.
What was the most challenging part of designing the model?
The curvature of the façade was a challenge. I wanted to make sure that the 3 buildings looked cohesive while maintaining the curved façade effect.
Which shop, room, or street scene is your personal favorite?
The outdoor seating on the rooftop with the jacuzzi and grape-vine trellis is my favorite. Imagine being there and seeing the rest of the brick city, enjoying some cheese & crackers and wine. 😊
Are there any hidden details or unusual building techniques that builders should look for?
The use of the wedge plates to create the curved façade would be one of the techniques they can take from this build. There are also small builds for trolleys and backpacks.
What do you hope builders will feel or notice when they explore the completed model?
I hope they reminisce about their own holidays and that they could feel the culture that inspired the build…like the cheese from Netherlands, the macarons from France, waffles from Belgium, and more.
My Building Experience with Holiday Corner Street
After spending time building Holiday Corner Street myself, my overall experience was very positive. The quality of the parts was good, and the model was enjoyable to assemble from beginning to end. The pieces connected well and felt comfortable to work with throughout the build.
I also appreciated that when I made a mistake and needed to go back a few steps, I was able to separate the necessary parts without much difficulty. With a model of this size and level of detail, that makes the building process considerably more pleasant.
Part Quality and Kit Contents
The overall part quality in the kit I received was good, although I did encounter a small number of missing pieces. These were mainly specific accessories, such as a minifigure hat and a few similar small figure elements, rather than parts that significantly affected the main structure of the model.
The stickers shown in the building instructions were also not included with my kit. This did not prevent me from completing the model, but it is worth mentioning for builders who want the finished result to match every detail shown in the instructions.
Clear Instructions with a Few Unusual Steps
The building instructions were generally clear and easy to understand, and I had no major difficulty following the construction process.
There were, however, several moments where a part was placed without being fully connected or supported until a later step. Sometimes it was secured immediately in the following step, while in other cases it remained that way for several steps before the surrounding structure was completed.
This did not bother me very much during the build, but it could potentially be confusing for someone with less building experience, especially if this is their first large and complex model.
A Build Full of Interesting Techniques
One of the strongest parts of the experience was the variety of building techniques used throughout the model. There is a lot happening inside a relatively compact street scene, with numerous architectural details, interior elements, small accessories, and decorative builds.
These details make the construction process interesting because the model rarely feels repetitive. As more sections are added, the shops, rooms, street features, and smaller scenes gradually give the entire build much more character and life.
The construction of the main building is particularly interesting. The technique used to create its curved, semi-circular shape is one of the highlights of the build. Watching the façade gradually take shape during construction is especially satisfying, and the finished curve creates a very impressive appearance that helps Holiday Corner Street stand out visually.
Overall Building Experience
Despite the small number of missing accessories and the absence of the stickers shown in the instructions, I enjoyed building Holiday Corner Street. The good part quality, clear instructions, detailed interiors, and variety of techniques made it a rewarding project.
For me, the strongest aspect of the experience was seeing how all of the individual details eventually come together. What begins as several separate floors, shops, and architectural sections gradually becomes a colorful and highly detailed street corner with a strong sense of personality.
A Street Corner Filled with Holiday Experiences
Holiday Corner Street combines three connected buildings with different architectural styles and color combinations. The curved façade is one of the model’s defining features, created with wedge plates while keeping the three buildings visually cohesive.
The model includes a Cheese & Crackers shop for souvenirs and a sweets shop offering macarons, chocolates, pastries, and other treats. The City Tours office provides day trips inside and outside the city and includes a map showing key places to visit.
Travelers can also visit the Extra Luggage shop to buy bags and luggage. Smaller builds for trolleys and backpacks add further details to the wider holiday theme.

The rooftop area features outdoor seating, a jacuzzi, and a grape-vine trellis. Brick Artisan describes this as a personal favorite and imagines visitors enjoying cheese, crackers, and wine while looking over the surrounding brick city.

The design draws inspiration from the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, and other destinations visited by Brick Artisan. Photographs from those trips were used as references for the architecture, while the food and shop details represent cultural experiences from several European countries.
