Telescope MOC Free Building Instructions | HTBI-MOC

Some space displays need a vehicle. Others need a reason for the crew to stop and look beyond the horizon. This Telescope MOC turns that quiet moment into a compact science display, centered on a long white optical tube mounted above a three-legged stand.

The Long White Tube Sets the Whole Scale

The telescope is much larger than the nearby space scientist figure, making the instrument feel like the main subject rather than a small background accessory. Rounded white sections form the barrel, while black rings divide the front, center, and rear areas into clearly readable sections.

A transparent circular element closes the front of the tube, and the smaller black viewing scope above adds another recognizable astronomy detail. Below the barrel, the light gray mounting structure creates a clean transition into the narrow black tripod. The contrast between the broad upper body and the angled legs gives the model its distinctive silhouette.

As you work through the image instructions, watch how the model is divided into separate visual assemblies. The front section establishes the circular viewing end, the curved white elements extend the main tube, the gray mount supports the barrel, and the three angled legs complete the stance.

Give the Space Scientist a Reason to Look Up

The Telescope MOC can become the center of a small story without requiring a large building around it. Place it on a city rooftop, inside an observatory, beside a remote research shelter, or at the edge of a planetary outpost.

• First contact: The scientist has detected a signal coming from beyond the visible horizon.
• Night observation: The telescope is tracking a comet, eclipse, or unfamiliar object in the sky.
• Outpost survey: A research team is mapping the stars before the next expedition leaves the base.

Turn the Telescope Into a Complete Research Site

A Contact Station with Antenna and Generator MOC can add communications equipment beside the observatory, while the Ice Planet Scout Walker MOC introduces a vehicle for surface surveys.
