Skeleton Farmhand MOC – Free Instructions for a Spooky Farm Scene
Share
A harvest scene becomes much stranger when the farmhand is still working long after everyone else has gone. The Skeleton Farmhand MOC places a skeletal worker among pumpkins, farm tools, fencing and a hanging lantern, turning a compact base into a complete spooky countryside moment.
This is my original custom MOC, created for autumn, Halloween, farm and haunted countryside displays. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page. The finished scene can stand on its own or become a character-filled section of a larger seasonal layout.

A Farmhand Who Never Clocked Out
The skeleton gives the model its personality, but the surrounding farm details are what make the character feel as though it belongs here. A wide-brimmed hat and tall pitchfork establish the farmhand role immediately, while the nearby wooden fence and shovel extend the working-farm setting beyond the figure itself.
The hanging lantern adds another strong vertical detail beside the skeleton. Together with the fence posts and pitchfork, it frames the central character while leaving the pumpkins clearly visible across the lower part of the scene.
The Pumpkin Patch Tells the Rest of the Story
Several orange pumpkins give the MOC its strongest seasonal feature. Their rounded shapes and green stems stand out against the earthy brown, tan and gray ground, while smaller plant details break up the surface around them.
A sack placed near the lantern suggests another piece of farm activity without requiring a large building or vehicle. Pebble-like ground elements, the low fence and scattered accessories make the base feel like a small patch of working countryside rather than simply a platform for the skeleton.
If you want more harvested produce nearby, the Pumpkin Cart Scene MOC provides another pumpkin-focused countryside scene that can sit naturally beside this farmhand.
Build the Skeleton Farmhand Step by Step
The instruction sequence starts with the rounded ground base and stone-like surface details, then adds the pumpkin crate, fence, posts and lantern before the skeleton character and farm tools complete the scene.

Turn It into a Larger Haunted Harvest
The Skeleton Farmhand can become the starting point for a much larger autumn display. For another skeletal character, the Pumpkin Skeleton MOC continues the mix of bones and pumpkins with a different character design.
You can push the field theme further with the Pumpkin Scarecrow MOC or the Pumpkin Man in a Hay Field. Together, these builds can turn the farmhand into part of a wider harvest field rather than an isolated display.
For a darker edge beyond the farm itself, connect the countryside to the Haunted Street Corner MOC. The change from pumpkin field to spooky street gives a larger seasonal layout two different environments while keeping the same overall atmosphere.
A Small Farm Scene with a Clear Character
The appeal of this MOC comes from the contrast between an ordinary harvest setting and its unusual worker. Pumpkins are waiting beside the fence, the tools are still out, the lantern is hanging in place, and the skeleton looks ready to continue the job.
That makes the Skeleton Farmhand useful as more than a seasonal character. It is a complete little story that can sit on a shelf by itself, join a pumpkin patch, or become one scene inside a much larger spooky countryside display.
