Jungle Shrine Ruins MOC – Free Building Instructions
A dark doorway beneath a face-like stone facade gives the Jungle Shrine Ruins MOC the feeling of a place hidden for generations. This is my original custom MOC, created as a compact overgrown landmark for jungle, fantasy, and adventure displays.
Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page. The completed scene can serve as a mysterious shelf model, a lost destination on an expedition route, or the entrance to a larger ruined complex.

A Shrine Entrance That Looks Back at the Explorer
The upper wall is arranged like a weathered guardian face. Two round stone forms read as large eyes, while the deep arch below becomes an open mouth or shadowed doorway. Sloped and offset gray elements keep the surface irregular, making the structure feel worn rather than newly constructed.
That face-like composition gives the ruin an immediate story. It may represent a forgotten shrine, a sealed tomb entrance, or a warning built to keep explorers away. The model does not need a character to create tension because the entrance itself becomes the focal point.
Where the Jungle Has Reclaimed the Stone
Dark green leaves rise above the roofline and climb around both sides of the arch. Bright lime plants spread across the front path, breaking up the gray masonry and making the vegetation feel active. Brown branch details near the top add another layer of age, as though roots and fallen growth have settled into the structure.
Two red crystal accents flank the doorway. Their small size keeps their purpose mysterious: they can become ceremonial markers, hidden treasure, magical remnants, or warnings within a larger adventure scene.
Recreate the Ruin Through the Image Instructions
The instruction sequence below shows how to assemble the shaped terrain base, layered stone entrance, upper guardian-like facade, and surrounding plant details. Follow the images in order while checking the placement of the angled masonry and foliage as the shrine takes shape.
The final plant arrangement is an important part of the design. The leaves frame the opening, soften the edges of the ruin, and create the contrast that makes the gray structure stand out from the jungle floor.
Build an Expedition Route to the Hidden Doorway
Place the Ancient Artifact Discovery MOC nearby to suggest that explorers have already recovered something from the site. A Forest Path Gate MOC can mark the beginning of the route, while the Carnivorous Plant MOC adds a natural obstacle before anyone reaches the entrance.
For a more magical interpretation, connect the ruins to the Crystal Ritual Shrine MOC. The two shrines can represent different chambers of one forgotten complex, with the jungle entrance above ground and the crystal site hidden deeper inside.
