Information Stand MOC – Free Building Instructions

This Information Stand MOC is my original custom city build, designed as a compact visitor kiosk with a staffed service window, map display, and detailed sidewalk scene. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.

The model works especially well near a train station, park entrance, town square, museum, or tourist district, where it can become a recognizable meeting point and add everyday activity to a larger city MOC.

About This Custom MOC

The information stand is built around a compact tan kiosk framed by dark green lower panels and a layered rounded roof. The deep green roof gives the building a distinctive civic appearance, while the small raised detail at the top creates a finished silhouette.

At the front, a red-and-white striped awning extends above the open service window. The counter provides space for the attendant and map display, making the purpose of the building easy to understand even when it is placed among larger city structures.

The surrounding details turn the kiosk into a complete street scene. A red bicycle is parked beside one wall, while the opposite side includes a curved hanging lamp, an information panel, and a slatted street bin. The gray tiled base connects these features into one display-ready city MOC.

What You Can Build from the Instructions

The image sequence helps you recreate the tiled sidewalk base, dark green lower frontage, tan wall structure, service counter, striped awning, and curved roof assembly. It also covers the smaller street details that complete the scene, including the side lamp, information display, bin area, and bicycle parking space.

Each section contributes to the stand’s clear visual identity. The walls create the compact kiosk shape, the open window establishes the public service area, and the roof and awning provide the strongest architectural details.

Creating a Visitor Welcome Point

This MOC can act as the first stop in a larger city display. Place it beside a station plaza so arriving travelers can ask for directions, near a park entrance as a visitor center, or in a historic town square where the attendant can provide maps and local information.

The model can also help connect different parts of a layout. The bicycle suggests local travel, the map details introduce a navigation story, and the service window gives characters a reason to stop and interact instead of simply passing through the street.

Building Experience

The model divides naturally into clear visual sections: the sidewalk and lower facade, the kiosk walls and counter opening, the striped awning, the layered roof, and the final street accessories. This creates a varied building experience without relying on one repeated construction style throughout the model.
