Imperial Prison Dock MOC – Free Building Instructions

A prison at the edge of the water creates an immediate story: arrivals come by boat, guards control the landing point, and the dock becomes the only route into a heavily protected outpost. The Imperial Prison Dock MOC is my original custom MOC built around that idea, combining a compact white fort with a wooden pier and rocky shoreline.

A Guarded Landing Point at the Water's Edge

The building dominates the scene with tall white walls, battlements and a narrow barred entrance facing the dock. A thin gold band breaks up the otherwise pale exterior, while the darker stonework around the base visually anchors the fort against the shoreline.

The wooden pier changes the purpose of the structure. Instead of feeling like an isolated tower, the Imperial Prison Dock MOC becomes a controlled arrival point where a boat could stop directly outside the guarded entrance.

Details That Make the Prison Story Read Clearly

Several visible details help communicate the function of the scene without requiring a large footprint. The black barred doorway gives the front of the building a secure appearance, while the open rooftop platform places the guard above the surrounding water.

• The battlements give the upper level a defensive silhouette.
• The large banner makes the rooftop easy to recognize as a guarded military position.
• A barrel adds a small supply detail behind the walls.
• Chains along the pier reinforce the working dock atmosphere.
• A lantern marks the waterfront entrance.

Together, these elements make the model feel like a specific location rather than a standalone building: a small fortified prison with its own landing stage.

Building the Imperial Prison Dock from the Image Instructions

The free MOC building instructions below let you recreate the scene visually, following the model from its water and shoreline base through the dock, fortified walls and upper platform.

One of the interesting parts of this design is the contrast between the different areas of the build. The lower section mixes water, rocks and timber, the central structure uses clean pale walls and a dark entrance, and the rooftop finishes the composition with battlements, the guard position and banner.

Turn the Prison into Part of a Larger Harbor

The dock gives this model several natural directions for expansion. A Classic Soldier Cannon MOC can strengthen the defended side of the harbor, while the Small Pirate Wharf MOC can add another landing point elsewhere along the shoreline.

For a busier working port, the Pirate Dock Crane MOC adds a cargo-focused waterfront element. A Pirate Rowboat MOC can introduce a small vessel and turn the prison dock into the setting for an arrival, escape or confrontation on the water.
