Forest Outlaw Landing MOC – Free Building Instructions

A small boat pulled up beside a hidden shoreline can turn a forest display into the beginning of an adventure. The Forest Outlaw Landing MOC is my original custom MOC built around that idea: a concealed riverside arrival point where a woodland outlaw can move between the water and the trees.

Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page. With its separate rowboat, raised landing, tree, supplies, lantern, stone wall, and water-edge vegetation, the model is particularly suited to medieval woodland scenes, secret hideouts, river routes, and story-focused displays.

From Rowboat to Hidden Forest Path

The layout is designed around a clear route through the scene. The boat sits just off the shore, while a short flight of wooden steps climbs from the water to the raised landing above.

At the top, barrels and a hanging lantern make the platform feel like a practical stopping point rather than an empty dock. It could represent supplies arriving at a hidden camp, an outlaw returning from a journey, or a quiet crossing point away from the main roads.

A Shoreline Built in Several Layers

The landscape gives the model much of its character. Blue water wraps around an irregular shore filled with low plants and round ground details, while a dark stone retaining wall supports the landing above it.

Behind the platform, the large tree creates a strong vertical backdrop and helps conceal the landing within the forest. Brown timber, dark masonry, green foliage, and the narrow strip of water give each level of the scene its own visual role without separating them into unrelated builds.

The instructions below recreate the complete displayed scene, including the shaped water base, shoreline details, wall, staircase, raised platform, tree, supplies, and separate boat.

The different sections also make the construction easy to follow visually: the landscape establishes the setting first, structural elements create the height of the landing, and smaller details complete the riverside atmosphere.

Turn One Landing into a Woodland Network

This scene becomes more interesting when the water is treated as another route through a larger medieval world. A Forestman Boat MOC can extend the river traffic beyond the landing, while the Hidden Fishing Spot MOC can continue the shoreline into a quieter stretch of forest.

Moving inland, the Forestmen Tree Base MOC can suggest where the landing leads after the character disappears into the woods. The Forestmen Archer's Hut MOC adds another concealed woodland destination nearby.

Together, these smaller scenes can create something larger than a single camp: boats arriving at hidden landing points, paths disappearing between trees, supplies moving through the forest, and small shelters positioned away from the main castle roads.

A Small Scene with an Arrival Story

The strongest part of the Forest Outlaw Landing MOC is the moment it captures. The boat is already at the bank, the stairs lead upward, supplies are waiting on the platform, and the forest closes in behind them.

That makes the build useful both as a standalone riverside display and as a connecting scene between the water, forest paths, camps, and hideouts of a larger medieval layout.
