Creepy Pumpkin MOC – Free Halloween Building Instructions

Something has taken over this pumpkin. The Creepy Pumpkin MOC turns a rounded orange pumpkin shell into a dark little shelter surrounded by spiders, a sweeping white web, and seasonal ground details. The open front keeps the interior visible, making the build feel like a complete Halloween scene rather than a simple pumpkin decoration.

This is my original custom MOC, created as a compact spooky display for Halloween layouts, autumn shelves, haunted gardens, and dark fantasy scenes. Free step-by-step image instructions are available on this page.

A Pumpkin That Has Been Claimed by Spiders

The strongest idea in this Creepy Pumpkin MOC is the contrast between a familiar autumn shape and what has moved into it. The orange shell still reads clearly as a pumpkin, with a curved surface and brown stem rising from the top, but spiders now occupy almost every part of the scene.

One sits inside the dark front opening, while others appear across the roof, around the ground, and beside the web. Spreading them across several heights makes the whole pumpkin feel occupied rather than simply decorated with one spider accessory.

The smaller pumpkins, leaves, mushroom, dark path pieces, and earthy ground around the main structure help keep the scene connected to autumn while the black spiders push it toward a much creepier Halloween atmosphere.

The Giant Web Changes the Entire Silhouette

The white spider web on the side is more than a small decorative detail. It extends beyond the orange pumpkin wall and creates a second shape beside the main structure, giving the model a much wider and more irregular outline.

That difference is important visually. The pumpkin itself is rounded and solid, while the web is open and skeletal. Putting those two forms beside each other makes the web easy to notice and gives the spider theme much more presence.

A spider attached directly to the web completes that side of the scene and makes it look as though the web has grown around the pumpkin rather than simply being placed behind it.

Recreate the Creepy Pumpkin MOC from the Image Instructions

The instructions on this page let you follow the construction visually and recreate the full custom MOC. As you build, several areas define the final appearance: the curved orange pumpkin shell, the recessed front opening, the large side web, the raised stem, and the uneven ground surrounding the structure.

The final spider placement is also an important part of the composition. Keeping spiders inside the opening, above the pumpkin, around the web, and across the base helps preserve the feeling that the entire scene has become their territory.

Where to Place This Halloween MOC

Because the model already contains its own base and surrounding scenery, it can work as a self-contained seasonal display or become one section of a larger spooky layout.

  • Use it as a standalone Halloween shelf display where the pumpkin and web can be seen from the front.
  • Place it beside a path or haunted garden to make the opening feel like a hidden creature shelter.
  • Combine it with cemetery details for a darker scene built around spiders, pumpkins, and overgrown ground.
  • Mix it with other autumn MOCs if you want a display that gradually changes from harvest scenery into something more sinister.

Build a Bigger Spooky Scene Around the Pumpkin

If you want to continue the pumpkin-and-creature theme, the Pumpkin Spider MOC free building instructions make a natural companion to this scene. You can also introduce a character with the Pumpkin Skeleton MOC.

For a larger haunted environment, connect the pumpkin scene with the Haunted Street Corner building instructions or add the Haunted Gravestone MOC to move the display toward a creepy cemetery setting.

The Creepy Pumpkin MOC is built around one simple visual story: an autumn pumpkin has become spider territory. The open shelter, oversized web, scattered pumpkins, dark ground, and spiders at different levels make that story visible from the moment the model is placed on display.
